Groovedesign Music

is a multifaceted and articulated up and coming label.

These projects can be seen as offshoots and branches of a single tree. They all seek to provide solutions to the proposition of conjugating deep grooves bass lines with psychedelic themes in many different rhythm, tempo and genres, ditching all limitations dictated by conventional music structures.

In detail;

Groovedesign Music includes 3 main projects:

Groovedesign Kollective,

Groovedesign InDub,

Utopia.

Groovedesign Kollective, groups together all of the 4 on 4 production and ranges from 120 bpm to 135 bpm, moving across blurred boundaries between House and Techno.

The influences and contaminations here are countless and include: deep house, house, deep tech, minimal techno, electronica, disco/nu disco, Detroit techno, psychedelic techno, acid house and more.

These themes and influences are then further injected with a warm jazzy, blues and Motown vibes in a sensual and sexy atmosphere. Some releases will also include darker and more incessant, high pressure/intensity techno solutions.

A safe place to explore our deepest and sometimes darkest thoughts, feelings and emotions without fears or restraints.

A raw journey through some of the most intense of human experiences with a view to see through it and to the other side.

All releases aim to weave a coherent and cohesive web of audio experience, suscitating deep emotions and a great, sudden urge to dance!

Groovedesign InDub

is an experimental collaborative project, which stems from the decades long experience of Dj Emiliano aka Groovedesign & Salwio Scarpa aka Familie Ground

applied to the field of psychedelic exploration of crossover, unconventional and conceptual beats.

This intensive research is rooted in early psychedelic gatherings on the hills, jungles and beaches of Southeast Asia all the way to contemporary state of the art Psychedelic Festivals (including Sonica, Ozora, Psy-Boutique etc), performing as Techno dj and producer.

From there the artistic need not only to contaminate 4 on 4 Techno beats with psychedelic soundscapes and atmospheres, but to approach different beats and tempos altogether. With the departure from techno’s rigid structure and archetypal identity, Groovedesign turned the project into Groovedesign InDub, taking a collaborative approach and involving many other artists, such as Exh-Ibz and Bahar Canca, and performers to fulfill the conceptual design.

The result is a crossover, cross-genre, cross-contaminated Grand Psychedelic Journey. It originates from a 140 bpm, half-time, deep dubstep, UK bass monster frame, that gives rise to an array of mind shattering soundscapes, lucid hallucinations of catastrophic dreams and emotional recoil. Bending reality to an infinitesimal point in silence, it forays human descent into chaos and darkness with a ‘can-do attitude’.

Pain, anguish, sex & lust, angst and madness are some of the themes explored through an intricate, sophisticated and complex web of sounds and textures, weaving in strong dub influences on tribal and ethnic elements, to create a vast, highly dramatic, deeply cinematic emotional playground.

140 Deep (Live Time 2 and Half+ Hours) is only the first chapter of a much longer journey which spans over 12+ hours. The Extended Full Project titled The Pharaonic Complex ranges from the 140 Deep Dubstep frame through to Drumstep (160/80 bpm) and Half-Time (170 bpm) all the way to Drum&Bass/Jungle(175+).

It also features a separate Ambient-World-Electronica project,

named Utopia,

as an intro or as a PA act of its own. Utopia is also made up of inter modular elements and clocks in at over 5+ hours altogether. All parts of Utopia/Pharaonic Complex/Grand Journey are inter modular and express an intelligible message as a single unit as well as a full show as a whole. This archive supports 6 or more releases.
